Lorne Blackman

Lorne Blackman is a former Partner with Schaffer Consulting, bringing over twenty five years of consulting experience across a wide range of industries and geographies. With significant experience in private industry, Lorne has also worked extensively with public sector clients in the USA, Canada, and internationally. His work focuses on leadership performance, coaching and development, strategy development, accelerating performance improvement, and team effectiveness.

While at Schaffer, Lorne led change initiatives with major US health care providers, medical suppliers, packaged goods manufacturers, hospitality companies, and public sector agencies. He also designed and led leadership development programs for health care providers and internal organizational change/consulting groups.

Prior to joining Schaffer, Lorne was a Senior Management Consultant with the World Bank where he led change management projects focused on improving international development effectiveness for the World Bank and for client countries, in South Asia in particular. Previously, he led the Organization Effectiveness function for a major Canadian energy company, and worked as a labor market economist in the oil industry and the public sector in Canada.

Lorne has published articles and interviews in Public Sector Digest and Consulting Magazine, where he addressed the role of results-focused change strategies and approaches in the public sector and health care sectors.

Lorne has taught leadership, High-Impact Consulting, and change management programs at Stanford University Hospital, Providence Health and Services, and other client groups.

Lorne holds an MS in Strategic Management from Pepperdine University, BA (honors) in Economics from the University of Manitoba, and completed an Executive Development Program at Harvard Business School.
